The Verduzco lab focuses on the design, synthesis, and application of new polymeric materials which can potentially address a wide range of current challenges, including our growing demand for energy, disease treatment, and reducing pollution and waste. Current areas of interest include all-conjugated block copolymers for photovoltaics, bottlebrush polymers as responsive surface coatings, 2-D polymers for high-strength films, and liquid crystal elastomers. The unifying theme of this work is engineering materials at the molecular level to achieve a stronger fundamental understanding of material properties.
